1. Introduction

1.1 Features

• Variants: The sitemap has three variants:
  1. Area: A page with a complete sitemap of the Area,
  2. Limited: A page with a complete sitemap of the Area and the title names of the other areas.
  3. Full: a page with all Areas with their sections and pages.
• Links: All area-, section- and pages names are clickable links to those items.
• Intranet: A sitemap on an Intranet only shows the areas, sections and pages the logged in user has acces to.

1.2 Description of the module

NOTE: Hidden pages, ivisible pages and pages under embargo are not displayed in the Sitemap module. Hidden does not mean inactive. However, a hidden page is retrieveable, if the URL is known. For further details on this subject, please see the Page Manager chapter, section 3.1 Add a page

• Area:

  Description: When, in the configuration of the module, Area is chosen the sitemap displays:
  • The configurable header text.
  • The configurable introduction text.
  • The Area title, i.e. in the demonstration data 'Exemplum Primary School'.
  • All sectionsm sub-sections and pages.
• Limited: Shows the sitemap of the Area where the sitemap is located and an overvieuw of the other public Areas on the site.

  Description: When, in the configuration of the module, Limited is chosen the sitemap displays:
  • The configurable header text.
  • The configurable introduction text.
  • The Area title, i.e. in the demonstration data 'Exemplum Primary School'.
  • All sectionsm sub-sections and pages.
  • A header: Available areas
  Tow ara titles: 'Exemplum Primary School' and 'Senior Pupils'.
• Full: Shows all sitemaps of all Areas.

  Description: When, in the configuration of the module, Full is chosen the sitemap displays:
  • The configurable header text.
  • The configurable introduction text.
  • The Area title, i.e. in the demonstration data 'Exemplum Primary School'.
  • All sectionsm sub-sections and pages.
  • Another Area title, i.e. in the demonstration data the 'Senior Pupils'
  • All sections sub-sections and pages, in this case only 'Welcome'.

2. Adding the module

In the Page Manager, select the Area or section and click on the Add a page link to enter the Add a page dialogue:

3. Configuration options

Click on the page name to enter the Sitemap condiguration dialogue:

Description of the page:

Sitemap configuration
Here you can configure the sitemap. You can add an optional header and an optional introduction to the sitemap. You can also change the scope of the sitemap. Use one of the following options: 'area' for a simple area map, 'limited' for an area map followed by a list of links to available areas, or 'full' for a complete overview of all areas.

Explanation:

• Header: Header text maximum length is 240 characters. The text is used for the subject. Default text: Overview of hte sie.
• Introduction: HTML markup and BSS can be used. HTML and BSS can be used. Default text: no text
• Set the scope of the sitemap: Select one of the three radio buttons below.
• • Area: A page wiht a complete sitemap of the Area,
  • Limited: A page with a complete sitemap of the Area and the namse of the other areas.
  • Full: a page with all Areas and their sections and pages.
• Save, Done, Cancel: Please see Save, Done, Cancel in the Basic procedures for beginners.
• Cancel: To cancel your action and return to the Page .
